Gregoria Riding Cape
Made to be a cozy layering piece that won't restrict your little one. Comes with a front pocket. This pattern is rated easy and anyone should be able to sew it. Comes in sizes preemie through 6T. See below for size chart and fabric usage.
IMPORTANT: When you print out your pattern, make sure you're printing at 100% scale and NOT scale to fit. Also, make sure the test square is correct on the first page of the pattern. You will have an inaccurate size pattern if you are off at all.
Knit fabric- medium to heavy weight cotton, it can be interlock, jersey or double knit. You may experiment with using a woven however we suggest going up one size if so. If making your cape from a woven, cut a piece of interfacing for the collar and use 1/2” wide double fold bias binding instead of knit ribbing
For a 60” wide fabric, you will need 1/2 a yard for sizes preemie through 9-12 and 7/8 of a yard for sizes 12-18 through 5-6. You may need to vary your layout depending on size, make sure to layout all your pieces prior to cutting
Supplies- Knit fabric, polyester thread and 1-2 yards of 1 1/2″ wide knit ribbing*
* Make your own knit ribbing by taking a knit fabric and cutting 1 1/2” wide strips along the cross-wise grain. You can either use your main body fabric or use a contrasting knit fabric
